Extract the archive and run its `mpv-manager-*` executable. On macOS/Linux,
launch it from Terminal (`./mpv-manager-macos-arm`, for example). Windows users
can double-click the `.exe`. The default launch opens the Web UI; terminal and
CLI workflows remain available. The release assets below also provide GitGud
package downloads if the dedicated mirror is temporarily unavailable.

### Upgrading and platform prompts

- **Windows v1.1/v1.2:** use a one-time manual replacement. Close MPV Manager,
  extract the new archive, replace the old manager executable and relaunch.
  Keep your mpv installation and configuration directories.
- **Linux/macOS v1.1/v1.2:** the historical Web update path is supported;
  downloading and replacing the manager manually remains available.
- Stable and release-candidate update channels use separate signing trust.
  RC users can install the stable archive manually without replacing their mpv
  configuration; RC-to-stable metadata promotion is a separate channel action.
- v1.3.0 executables do **not** have Microsoft Authenticode or Apple Developer ID
  signatures/notarization. Those integrations are scheduled for v1.4.0. Windows
  may show an Unknown Publisher/SmartScreen prompt. On macOS, after verifying the
  download, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway; a standard
  account may need administrator authentication. Do not disable OS protections
  globally. Ed25519 update-manifest verification is enabled independently.

  and explicit ownership inventories. Shutdown drains committed operations.
- Windows default and custom portable installation preserves startup locks,
  existing configuration and recoverable state. Reinstall keeps complete custom
  profiles; invalid config paths fail before player files are changed.
- Windows native mpv registration makes file associations available to the OS;
  removal cleans owned registration while preserving unrelated defaults.
- Safe migration of legacy MPC-QT setup downloads, busy-player uninstall preflight
  and clearer native installer/job dialog behavior.
- macOS detects existing mpv and IINA bundles without executing them, preserves
  official mpv release identity and handles standard-account permission refusal.
- Linux passwordless sudo/sudo-rs authorization and bounded localized package
  probes; consistent package identities prevent duplicate detected applications.
- Package and Homebrew reinstall preserve complete existing profiles. Fresh
  defaults precede UI configuration so ModernZ's selected OSC stays effective.
- Dual-GPU support and corrected Intel Arc/Battlemage, AMD mobile/integrated and
  codec mappings, including model-name collision handling and 680M AV1 reporting.

- Ed25519-authenticated release manifests, separate stable/RC feeds and embedded

- Exact artifact hashes, sizes, platform identity and CPU baselines are checked
  before transactional manager replacement by an external helper.
- Authenticated durable recovery, preserved rollback evidence and safe relaunch
  outcomes across Windows, macOS and Linux. Explicit checks fetch fresh metadata.
